How to apply for scholarship to study abroad

Getting scholarship abroad is a life goal of most students. Goal could be achieved when you take actions and put effort into doing what you wish for. There are many scholarships to different countries available for international students, especially Cambodian students. We will give you a few tips to help you make a good start in scholarship procedure.

Make a clear plan

You should have a clear plan and schedule of what and when you start doing things which are required for your scholarship application. For instance, you may set one week duration to search for scholarship programs, another week for preparing the required documents, and so on. Having the plan, you should follow it as much as you can in order to make your applying process go well.

Doing research

After finding the scholarship program and country that you wish to pursue your degree, you should spend time doing research about the subjects, courses, as well as the university. To do the research, you can get into the scholarship or school official webpage for the information, specifically the courses available that suit with your career and background.

Preparing documents

Required documents for scholarship abroad usually include transcript of your previous academic year, CV, motivation letter, essay, English proficiency certificate (IELTS, TOEFL), and identity documents. In case you do not have English proficiency score, it takes you around or more than one month to take the exam and get the result. Therefore, you need to get yourself prepared those documents as soon as you can.

Filling application

You have to try your best to answer each question clearly by showing the selection committee your passion and motivation through your writing. When filling the application form, you should read the questions and instruction clearly or else you will get to understand the question wrong. After you finish writing your application, you are recommended to have proofreading. You should give yourself a few days to review your application in order to avoid any mistake. Also, you can ask other people to read your writing for feedbacks, which may help you to improve your words and sentences used, flow of ideas, so on and so forth.

Importantly, Make sure your application arrives before the closing date of the scholarship. You should aware that some scholarship programs require you to submit online, as a result, you should submit your application a few days prior to the deadline to avoid any error from the online system.
