YSEALI DIY (Diversity, Inclusion, Youth) Regional Workshop for ASEAN (Fully Funded)

We are excited to offer the YSEALI DIY (Diversity, Inclusion, Youth) Regional Workshop for youth from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. This fully-funded workshop will bring together 80 young leaders who are between the ages of 18-35 and are registered YSEALI members. 

The program will include young leaders who express commitment to advocating for diversity and inclusion issues in their workplaces, communities and in Southeast Asia. This fully funded program will consist of pre-workshop virtual activities providing background on diversity and inclusion frameworks as well as an introduction to best practices of implementing diversity initiatives; a three-day workshop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and post-workshop activities demonstrating lessons learned by multinational teams and as individuals. 

Program Dates

The program will be an in-person workshop scheduled from August 17 – 21 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be: 

  • A registered YSEALI Member (Not a member yet? Join here!)
  • All applicants must be 18-35 years old
  • Citizen of and currently residing in one of the following countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Be able to participate in all 5 days of the workshop during August 17-21, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia including travel days
  • Can commit to a virtual pre workshop between July 2022 to August 2021

  • All applications submitted after May 8, 2022 will not be accepted.
  • Incomplete applications and participants who do not fulfill the criteria will not be accepted 
  • Selected participants will be notified by mid June.
  • This program is fully funded by the U.S. Department of State.
