University of Tsukuba financial scholarship for international students to study in Japan (Fully Funded)

University of Tsukuba financial scholarship for international students to study in Japan

The University calls for additional recruitment in April for application for privately-financed international students who wish to receive scholarships through university recommendation for the 2020-21 academic year (ex. Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship and other private scholarships).

The University collectively calls for applicants for next year’s scholarships through university-recommendation once a year in July of the previous year, however, this is an additional recruitment exclusively for new students who were admitted and students who were taking a leave of absence in last July. The above-mentioned students are strongly encouraged to apply this time after carefully reading the Application Guide.

Please note that the number of the scholarships is limited; therefore, all the applicants will not be necessarily recommended to the scholarship foundations. Moreover, even if an applicant is recommended, there is no guarantee that the applicant will be accepted by the scholarship foundation.

Eligibility

Privately-financed international students holding a status of residence of “College Student” and satisfying either one of the following conditions (A) or (B).

A) Degree students or non-degree research students enrolled from August 2019 to April 2020
B) Degree students who could not apply in July 2019 because of a leave of absence from school (“kyugaku”) at the time of application and who have been re-enrolling by April 2020.

Ineligibility

1) Students who will be taking a temporary leave of absence from the university in AY2020-21
2) Student who are expected to receive any scholarships or grants (including those covering living expenses) in AY2020-21
3) Students who will continue to receive their current scholarship in AY2020-21
