Teach abroad as an English Language Assistant Applications for the 2023-24 academic year
We are pleased to announce that the application form for the 2023-24 academic is now live. Deadline for applications is February 1st 2023. However, we strongly recommend that you submit your application well before the deadline. Final deadline for tutor reference submission is February 8th 2023. Established in 1905, the British Council’s English Language Assistants (ELA) programme is a major UK mobility initiative that offers paid teaching placements abroad, providing the perfect opportunity to travel, teach and gain invaluable experiences along the way.
Every year we send around 2,500 English Language Assistants from the UK to support the teaching of English in 14 destinations around the world.
We will begin accepting applications for 2023-24 English Language Assistant programme in early November. We will update this page with a link to the application form as soon as the application window opens.
