SUNY Korea Undergraduate Scholarship and Financial Aid

SUNY Korea Scholarship Committee will apply the following scholarship criteria and benefits as a minimum reference standard. External references such as leadership, extracurricular activities, honors/awards, essay, and etc. will also be taken into account.

The criteria may be revised and enhanced upon committee’s decision due to availability of funds and its competitiveness. Number of scholarship recipients may vary each semester upon availability of funds for each scholarship or financial aid secured from SUNY Korea.

Undergraduate Scholarship

Presidential Scholarship
Eligibility	Incoming Freshmen(Evaluated annually)
Benefits	– Full tuition and fees– Room and Board
Requirements	– High achieving high school record or equivalent– High achievement in standardized tests– Evidence of leadership, special talents or interests, and other personal qualities through extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and other non-academic pursuits

Merit Scholarship
Eligibility	Incoming Freshmen(Evaluated annually)
Benefits	Full Tuition
Requirements	– High achieving high school record or equivalent– Evidence of leadership, special talents or interests, and other personal qualities through extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and other non-academic pursuits

Shared Prosperity Scholarship
Eligibility	International students with citizenship from developing countries (1~2 from each country)
Benefits	– Full/partial tuition– Program fees*– Room and Board*
Requirements	– High achieving high school record or equivalent– High achievement in standardized tests– Evidence of leadership, special talents or interests, and other personal qualities through extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and other non-academic pursuits* Require official recommendation from embassy or government

Academic Excellence Scholarship
Eligibility	Continuing Students
Benefits	– Full/half tuition
Requirements	– Outstanding Academic GPA among same year class– 15 or more credits earned toward GPA (14 for first semester freshmen)– Evidence of leadership, special talents or interests, and other personal qualities through extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and other non-academic pursuits

Refugee Support
Eligibility	North Korean Refugees
Benefits	– Full tuition and fees– Room and Board
Requirements	– Proof of Refugee Record

Low-Income Support
Eligibility	People in Low Income Status
Benefits	– $1000 to Full tuition/Semester– Room and Board upon review
Requirements	– Proof of Low-Income Status
