The University of Tokyo is proud to announce its new PEAK programs, the first undergraduate degree programs at the University to be taught entirely in English. Two courses have been available since October 2012:
The International Program on Japan in East Asia
The International Program on Environmental Sciences
PEAK is a unique, innovative English-medium four-year undergraduate degree program. As one of the world’s leading universities, we admit a select group of globally-oriented students and offer them exciting possibilities for intellectual growth and personal development.
The aim of these undergraduate degree programs is to share rich intellectual resourses and ethos of UTokyo with the wider world and international community of students and scholars. JEA and ES classes are small and interactive in order to facilliate the exchange of ideas and foster creative thinking. In addition, students have the opportunitiy to study Japanese lagnuage during their time at UTokyo.
The application process is conducted online.

The University of Tokyo Scholarship
This scholarship is offered to students of exceptional merit. It is a four-year scholarship that covers the admission fee, tuition, and living expenses (JPY126,000 a month).
Up to ten students may be offered this scholarship.
Note:
・ This scholarship, in principle, does not allow the recipient to receive any other types of scholarship.
・ This scholarship will be reviewed every year and the renewal will be contingent upon satisfactory academic performance.
・ This scholarship requires, in principle, four consecutive years of study (contingent upon satisfactory academic performance).

Outline of Online Application Procedure
Application period:
10:00am on November 13, 2023 to 11:59pm on December 13, 2023 (Japan Standard Time/JST)

* Detailed instruction is displayed on the system.
* The deadline for the payment of the application fee is 10:59pm on December 13, 2023 (JST)
* We strongly recommend you start your online application process as soon as possible and submit your application by at least one day in advance of the deadline. Especially, please try not to submit your application after 11:00pm on December 13, 2023 (JST).
* You may not receive answers to the inquiries you send to us on or after December 11th. If you have any inquiries, please ask us by December 10th
* The admissions office may contact you after you submit your application if there are any minor errors. In this case, you need to respond to us within 3 days after the office contact you. Sometimes, you may need to ask your high school to fix the error. Therefore, if your school will be on vacation from mid-December, you should submit your application well in advance of the vacation period.
* If there are any major errors in your application, such as a mistake in the exam scores you input, your application will not be considered for admission review. You should check the information you input and documents you upload carefully before you submit your application.
