These scholarships are provided by the former Hutt Timber Holdings Limited, as a memorial to the late Mr Owen Browning, who was prominent in the development of the New Zealand timber industry.

Eligibility

A scholarship shall be tenable initially for one year in the case of a scholar studying for the MForSc degree, for one year in the case of a scholar studying for the MSc degree in Environmental Science (who is wholly supervised by the School of Forestry), and for two years in the case of a scholar studying for the PhD degree in Forestry or Forestry Engineering.
