JRC Fuwaku Scholarship
Japanese Research Centre is offering JRC Fuwaku Scholarship 2019 to two qualified applicants. There are eligible programs listing below.
Nationality: UK/EU and Overseas applicants
Where: SOAS University of London
Scholarship award: valued at £10,000
Eligible programmes:
- Any full-time MPhil/PhD Student (new admissions and current SOAS MPhil/PhD students) whose thesis topic focusses on any aspect of Japan
- Any full-time Postgraduate Taught Masters Degree programme with a dissertation on a theme connected with Japan. In addition to taking a minimum of 1.0 units (or equivalent, e.g 2x 0.5 units) on Japan/Japanese studies.
- Current Masters students enrolled in Year 1 (of a two-year full-time Masters Degree at SOAS) in 2018-19 and entering Year 2 in 2019-20 are also eligible to apply
Who can apply:
To apply for the scholarship, you need to:
- Be UK/EU and Overseas applicants
- For MPhil/PhD applicants, the research proposal must focus on Japan, provide evidence of this in the research proposal of their admission application
- For Postgraduate Taught Masters Degree applicants must write their dissertation on a theme connected with Japan, should provide evidence of this in the statement of their admission application
- For Postgraduate Taught Masters Degree applicants must take a minimum of 1.0 units
- Include in their scholarship application details of their skills in Japanese (if applicable)
- Hold an offer of admission to a degree programme at SOAS by the scholarships deadline
- Meet the English language requirement
