YOUNG LEADERS’ PROGRAM (YLP) STUDENT (SCHOOLOF GOVERNMENT)

The Young Leaders’ Program (YLP) is one of the Japanese Government(MEXT – Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology)Scholarship Student programs. It is intended to develop future national leader of Asian as well as some other countries, and to enhance friendly relationships among various countries and to improve policy planning activities.




Nationality: students from a few countries; noticeably, Cambodia candidates are included

Where: National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan

Number of awards: around 20

Field of study: Public Administration/Public Policy


Important information:

  • You are not older than 40 years old.
  • You got a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized/accredited university or college with outstanding academic result.
  • You have at least 3 years of full-time work experience in public administration.
  • You meet the minimum required English ability – A minimum TOEFL PBT score of 550, TOEFL iBT score of 79, IELTS Academic score of 6.0 or equivalent.
