The Hans-Peter Wild Talent Scholarships are awarded once a year, at the start of each winter semester, to highly gifted up-and-coming students from Germany and abroad who want to take a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the MINT field (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology) at Heidelberg University. HOW TO APPLY PROPERLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP

The application must be submitted in eletronic form. During the application period, the corresponding online application form can be accessed via a link on this page. The application is initially for a funding period of two semesters.

Please note the following steps when applying:

  1. Registration for the online application portal during the application period.
  2. Fill in the online application, upload the required documens and submit it by the end of the application period.

The application must be submitted in electronic form via the online application portal.

Documents for Bachelor’s programme applicants

  • Curriculum vitae in table form
  • Letter of motivation (part of the application form)
  • Certificate of university-entrance qualification, foreign certificates require a copy of the original certificate (indicating the final grade) as well as an official translation in German or English and if available, an official conversion to the German grading system.
  • Supporting MINT-related documentation on prizes and awards, voluntarily completed internships, professional training in a MINT field, participation in working groups | seminars/pupils‘ academies or a pupils‘ study programme if they should be taken into account in the selection procedure
  • Two recommendation letters from professionals in the MINT field. These can be, for example: teachers, lecturers, associate professors, research group leaders, academic staff, lecturers within the framework of a pupils‘ study programme or pupils‘ academy lasting several weeks
  • Notification of admission (if available)

Documents for Master’s programme applicants

  • Curriculum vitae in table form
  • Letter of motivation (part of the application form)
  • First university diploma relevant for a Master‘s degree including the final grade. If this is not available by the end of the application period, a certificate of current date of the university confirming the academic achievements so far (if possible with an average grade). The certificate of the university diploma must be submitted by the start of the first week of the lecture period of the semester following the application period. Please note that when it comes to foreign first university diplomas, the original document (indicating the final grade) must be handed in as well as a certified translation in German or English and, if possible, an official conversion of this grade to the German equivalent.
  • Supporting MINT-related documentation on prizes and awards, voluntarily completed internships, professional training in a MINT field, conferences, presentations and poster presentations given, (co-) publications
  • Two recommendation letters from professionals in the MINT field. These can be, for example: teachers, lecturers, associate professors, research group leaders, academic staff, lecturers within the framework of a pupils‘ study programme or pupils‘ academy lasting several weeks
  • Notification of admission (if available)

THIS IS HOW THE SUBMISSION OF YOUR DOCUMENTS WORKS

The electronic application documents for a scholarship must be received via the online application portal on this page within the application period (May 1 to July 15). If you do not have your certificate of enrolment as well as your first university diploma by the end of the application period, you can submit these missing documents by the start of the first week of the lecture period of the semester following the application period.
