ENS Lyon Master’s degrees with scholarships 2021-2022, France

The ENS de Lyon and its partners offer scholarships (Ampère & MILYON Scholarships) for excellent international students to enrol in its Master’s programs.

For each Master’s degree, it is indicated if it is open for international students and the language proficiency requirements (French and/or English).

Scholarships of Excellence

  • Ampère Scholarships of Excellence
    • Master’s programs concerned: all Master’s programs in Exact Sciences, the Arts, and Human and Social Sciences (except FEADéP Master’s programs). Consult the rules related to the Ampère scholarship (document on the right)
    • Amount: 1,000€ a month during one or two academic years

Please note : this year, our partnership with the Embassy of France in Romania and Campus France enable us to offer 2 scholarships of Excellence dedicated to students from Romania (among 20 scholarships). 

Application process

Please note : before beginning your application, read carefully all information and documents requested, and choose your Master’s program. 

  1. Complete and submit the online application form (thank you to read carefully the procedure below before to fill the application)
    Call for Application 2021-2022 will open on November, 24th 
    • Please note: this form allow you to candidate for admission in a master with a scholarship of excellence.
    • Documents to be uploaded in the application form
    • All candidates: 
      • Two referee letters from professors who have close knowledge of your work
      • Motivation Letter
      • Curriculum Vitae
      • Certificate of diplomas and degrees already obtained (ex: Bachelor degree)
      • University academic transcript of records
    • If you are applying for a Master’s program in the Arts, Humanities, Languages or Social Sciences:
      • a summary of your research project in French (3 pages maximum)
        the reasons underlying the choice, the justification in relation to previous research in the same field (whether personal or not), methodological direction, an indicative bibliography, a list of personal publications or participations in colloquia (if applicable)
      • a certificate of Proficiency in French:
        Minimum B2 or C1 level (depending on the Master’s choosen)
        Official document : certification (DALF, DELF, TCF) or document from your University
        If you are coming from a French Speaking country (see List of officially French-speaking countries on the right of this page), you can join a letter in French stating this point
    • If you are applying for admission in Exact Sciences:
      • a certifcate of Proficiency in English 
        Minimum of C1 in Computer sciences
        Minimum of B2 for other Master’s program
        Official document : certification (ELTS or TOEFL) or document from your University.
      • a certificate of Proficiency in French
        Minimum of B2 in Biology
        No minimum level required for other Master’s program
        Official document : certification (ELTS or TOEFL) or document from your University.
        If you are coming from a French Speaking country (see List of officially French-speaking countries on the right of this page), you can join a letter in French stating this point
        If you don’t speak French, please join a letter stating this point.
  2. Application review : all applications are reviewed by the admission committee of the ENS de Lyon. No results will be given by phone. 
     
  3. Results : The results are available on this page (see documents). 
     
  4. Admissions and enrolment : if your application is accepted, you will receive a letter of pre-enrolment and the steps to be followed for enrolment.
