Columbia University Humanity in Action Fellowships in the USA

Humanity in Action Fellowships brings together international groups of current college and university students and recent graduates to explore compelling, current issues of liberal democracy, pluralism, human rights and social justice within the specific historical and cultural contexts of each program site. Intensive and demanding, the on-site programs are an educational space for transatlantic dialogue, reflection and informed action.

Each program is interdisciplinary and features daily lectures and discussions with renowned academics, journalists, politicians, and activists, as well as site visits to government agencies, non-profit and community organizations, museums, and memorials.

Humanity in Action covers the costs of participation in the five-week program as well as accommodation. However, fellows are responsible for airfare to and from their program site. (Humanity in Action will cover this expense for fellows with documented need.)
