ASEAN IN TODAY’S WORLD 2020
Feb 22 – Mar 5, 2020 || Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Deadline: 27 October 2019

Is a two-week international study program focusing on ASEAN and East Asian affairs. It is designed for university undergraduate students from around the world. The medium of instruction is English.

The AsTW curriculum consists of ASEAN Studies (AS) and Asian Languages & Cultures (ALC) courses, supplemented by co-curricular Study Trips, providing students with rich and unique learning opportunities. The AS component gives AsTW its distinction as a rigorous introduction to selected ASEAN issues that increasingly affect global and regional “ASEAN+3” relations. Students will broaden their knowledge and gain deeper understanding of ASEAN and “ASEAN+3” cooperation through the AS courses. A valuable part of the program is the opportunity to approach ASEAN and East Asia topics from different perspectives.

SCHOLARSHIP
Kyushu University
offers a limited number of scholarships to students from ASEAN countries who present a strong academic record.

All applicants are considered but priority will be given to students with ASEAN nationalities and currently studying at an ASEAN country. The scholarship fund can cover the AsTW program fee, but it does not cover travel expenses to and from Kuala Lumpur, local transportation, and personal expenses (souvenirs, laundry, etc.).

There is no scholarship application form to be completed by an applicant. The scholarship award process will be on a competitive basis with an emphasis on applicants that can contribute the most to multi-cultural dynamics in and outside of the classroom. Officials from both Kyushu University and University of Malaya will make the decision on scholarship recipients.
