Scholarships

All high school applicants to U of T Engineering are automatically considered for Faculty-specific admission scholarships when they apply. Applicants are considered for scholarships on the basis of academic excellence and extracurricular involvement as demonstrated in the Online Student Profile. Engineering applicants may also be considered for university-wide scholarships, for which a separate application is required.

Sprenger Scholarship for Mature Students in EngineeringVariableThis award is open to a Canadian citizen or permanent resident entering First Year of Electrical or Computer Engineering as a full-time mature student. Preference will be given to an individual who has been out of full-time studies or has been in the workforce for a number of years. The award is renewable for years 2–4 based on academic merit.

Candidates will be asked to submit a short essay outlining why they are applying as a mature student and what impact the award would have on their lives. Please direct applications to awards@engineering.utoronto.ca.
