Applicants holding an offer of a place on one of the following Masters courses are invited to submit an application for this award.

Journalism and Media Studies MA
Media Practice for Development and Social Change MA
UK or overseas fee payers are eligible to apply.
Scholarship applications are considered by an academic selection panel, with the chosen recipient being awarded the scholarship when they register on their course in September 2022.

Cate Haste was a television producer, writer and Sussex alumna (1966). She produced many historical documentaries such as End of Empire and The Churchills, and wrote several books, including Keep the Home Fires Burning: Propaganda in WW1, Nazi Women, Clarissa Eden: A Memoir – From Churchill to Eden, the Goldfish Bowl: Married to the Prime Minister (with Cherie Booth) and Rules of Desire: Sex in Britain WW1 to the Present. Her book, Passionate Spirit: the Life of Alma Mahler, was published in 2019 and explores the life of Alma Mahler, who was a composer, author, socialite and extraordinary intellect.
