Overseas students are calling to apply for the scholarship in a graduate school at a Japanese university. Notably, you need to meet all the requirements listing to be the qualified candidate.

Nationality: international candidates

Where: One of Japanese university in Japan

Degree: PhD program, Master’s program

Number of awards: 15 to 20 students

Scholarship award and duration:

• ¥200,000 per month for 1 or 2 years
• ¥180,000 per month for 3 years
• ¥150,000 per month for 4 or 5 years
• Travel expenses for attending an international conference

Eligibility:

In order to apply, you need to:

• Not hold Japanese citizenship
• Register for the enrollment to a graduate school starting from April 1, 2019
• Born after March 31, 1983 (For attending in a PhD program)
• Born after March 31, 1988 (For attending in a Master’s program)
• Possess strong commitment to go back and work in your home country in the future
• Obtain strong understanding of international friendship and goodwill
• Be able to engage in the events by the foundation
• Be able to carry an everyday conversation in Japanese

What do you need to submit?

• A scholarship application form, a resume and a personal information form (the application form will be available from September 15, 2018)
• Academic transcript:
• Research plan
• One recommendation letter from an academic supervisor
• A certificate of enrollment or a letter of admission
