Merit awards for International Undergraduate Students at the University of Vermont in USA, 2021

Prospective, first-time, first-year undergraduate students are automatically considered for the Presidential Scholarship, and the Trustees Scholarship based on their application for admission. Explore scholarships that require a separate application.

The following scholarships do not require a separate application from prospective, first-time, first-year undergraduate students who are out-of-state residents or international.

Presidential Scholarship

  • Presidential Scholarships are awarded to admitted out-of-state first year students who demonstrate the highest academic performance. Recipients are selected based on the application for admission.
  • Presidential Scholars are awarded a four-year (eight semester) merit scholarship, which ranges from $17,000 to $20,000 annually. No separate application is required.
  • You must be enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Renewal eligibility is evaluated at the end of each spring term.

Trustees Scholarship

  • Trustees Scholarships are awarded to admitted out-of-state first-year students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance. Recipients are selected based on the application for admission.
  • Trustee Scholars are awarded a four-year (eight semester) merit scholarship, which ranges from $8,000 to $15,000, annually. No separate application is required.
  • You must be enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Renewal eligibility is evaluated at the end of each spring term.

    I’ll need some clarification please. Does the scholarship cover all courses like science courses such as Physics or Mathematics for undergraduate applicants? Then if it does how can one apply for an international student.
