Literature, Languages and Cultures Masters Scholarships
The School will award 4 scholarships to outstanding students beginning their masters studies in the 2020-2021 academic year.
The School is pleased to invite applications from outstanding candidates for Masters scholarships for entry in 2020-2021. We will be awarding four Literature, Languages and Cultures Masters Scholarships. These exciting new schemes are designed to attract the best and brightest candidates to study in Edinburgh.
Award
Each of the awards will cover:
- Tuition fees for a maximum of one year at the Home/EU rate for the chosen programme of study (up to a maximum of £10,700). Successful Overseas applicants will be liable for the difference between the Home/EU and Overseas fees rates.
Applicants to two-year full-time programmes or two-year part-time Masters programmes, are eligible to apply for the scholarships. However, they will be liable for any tuition fees in excess of £10,700
PhD students are not eligible to apply for this scheme.
Eligibility
The scholarship will be awarded to students who have applied for admission to any eligible on campus Masters programme of study within the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures commencing in the 2020-2021 academic year.
Criteria
The scholarships will be awarded on academic merit and the potential to excel at the chosen programme of study. Successful applicants will hold or be predicted to achieve a first class honours undergraduate degree (or overseas equivalent) in a relevant field or should be able to prove their academic merit through evidence of professional achievements, awards or publications relevant to their chosen programme of study. Candidates in this latter category should note that a good first degree will still be required.

Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application
The scholarship deadline is 23:59 GMT 1st May 2020.
In order to gain access to the scholarship application system applicants must have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh. Please note that, following the submission of an application for admission, it can take up to five working days for all system checks to be completed and for access to be granted.
The online scholarship application form is located in EUCLID and can be accessed via MyEd our web based information portal at https://www.myed.ed.ac.uk

The deadline date for applications is 1 May 2020. Applicants must have applied for an on campus Masters programme of study within the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures before 10th April 2020. Their references must have been submitted by 24th April 2020.
Notification
All applicants will be notified of the outcome in June 2020.
