Vacancy 1 – Receptionist and Consular/Passports support officer (Locally Engaged Employee)

The Australian Embassy is seeking applications for a Receptionist and Consular / Passports Support Officer. The position is available from 1 July 2017 and is open to applicants of all backgrounds and genders. After an initial three month probationary period the successful candidate may be offered a 12 month contract with the possibility of renewal. The competitive salary package for the position includes a monthly salary between USD567 and USD708.

Duties will include:

  • Provide reception duties for visitors to the Embassy
  • Receive and connect all incoming callers to the relevant section in the Embassy
  • Assist with providing passport and consular support to Australian citizens
  • Support the Passports and Consular Team
  • Qualifications required:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Khmer both orally and in writing
  • Experience in a client focused environment
  • Sound organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good keyboard and computing skills

Vacancy 2 – Visa Support Officer (Locally Engaged Employee)

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) is developing an Order of Merit for Visa Support Officers in the Visa Section of the Australian Embassy in Cambodia.

Positions will be filled on a contractual basis as vacancies arise, with a competitive package and salary offered. Other benefits and conditions will be governed by the LES conditions of service. Hours of work are: Mon to Fri 8.00 – 12.00 and 1.30 – 5.00pm (4.15pm on Fridays).

Successful applicants will exercise delegation to assess and decide visa applications, in both the temporary and permanent migration programs, which may involve site visits to different provinces in Cambodia.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high performing team, manage a diverse caseload, and live and work in a culturally rich and diverse post conflict country.

Successful applicants will need to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in assessment and lawful decision making;
  • High volume case load management;
  • Strong client service background;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 and other systems;
  • Well developed organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines;
  • An ability to respond positively to change, showing initiative and willingness to focus on achieving identified priorities.
