Fully Funded Postgraduate Scholarship at University of Newcastle, Australia
A PhD Scholarship is available for a student in order to investigate mechanisms underlying myopia under the supervision of Associate Professor Sally McFadden.
Myopia (shortsightedness) is a problem and is now a leading cause of blindness. A range of different projects are available, and would be tailored for the background and interests of the applicant.
Methods of researching include material science, drug development, optics, optical engineering, programming, molecular or anatomical techniques, immunohistochemistry, genetics and/or clinical ophthalmology / optometry. You will broaden your understanding toward the issue and be part in the researching process.

Scholarship award: $26,682 per annum
Duration: three years, with the possibility of a six-month extension
