[Fully Funded] GLOBAL FOOD SECURITY SYMPOSIUM 2019 

21-22 March 2019, Washington DC, USA

Next Generation Delegates are expected to:
1. Attend all symposium-related events in Washington, DC, on March 21-22, 2019. The Council will cover round trip airfare, accommodations, and meal expenses for Next Generation Delegates.
2. Prepare a commentary piece for the Global Food for Thought blog on food security, water and sustainability, entrepreneurship and innovation, or a similar topic as it relates to the student’s area of research.
3. Support social media outreach, which includes engaging students’ respective universities and disseminating information about the symposium, its featured report, and the live stream.
4. Contribute to and participate in the event’s social media plans and take on other responsibilities as required.



Candidate Criteria:

1. All candidates must be current university students who will still be enrolled at the time of the symposium, March 2019.
2. Students must be at the graduate or advanced undergraduate (third or fourth year) level studying agricultural development, entrepreneurship, international development, or other food security related disciplines.
3. Students must plan to enter the agriculture and food sector upon graduation.
4. International students and students studying at universities outside of the United States are strongly encouraged to apply.

    We also express hope that this programme will not only address some of the challenges and constraints faced by the food and nutrition sector in our Country Rwanda but also explore more unexploited opportunities. Our local NGO is formed by interested students in agriculture who need to bring changes in this sector whereby more than 80% of Rwandans are farmers.
    If we get the chance to attend this noble symposium we will be able to achieve all of the plans of activities at our NGO and oour beneficiaries in rural ereas. Our Legal representative does whatever is possible to help local farmers get the school fees of their children when their harvest is low due to changes of climate.
