Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters European Master in Law and Economics 2022

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters European Master in Law and Economics 2022

EMLE provides an experience lauded as “an outstanding educational concept” which synthesizes law and economics together into a programme that is both manageable in its structure and innovative in its design. This programme creates an atmosphere of internationality through its students and its universities, which provides both a learning experience for its scholars and a desirable trait for future employers. The combination of law and economics fosters an atmosphere of idea sharing and introduces different techniques for examining and handling problems. EMLE is forging a path in producing future lawyers and economists equipped with an interdisciplinary background ready to handle the multidimensional challenges of European and international business and law.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters

There is the possibility that the highest ranked students will be offered an Erasmus+: Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) Scholarship by the European Commission. EMJM scholarship holders will receive a generous grant that covers the tuition fees, contributes to travel and installment costs and gives a monthly contribution to cover subsistence costs for the duration that students will be studying on the program. Please note that monthly contributions will not be paid for any periods (study/research/placement/thesis) that students will spend in their country of residence. It will also not be paid to non-EU students for the EMJM periods exceeding three months (indicatively the equivalent of 15 ECTS credits) spent in any Partner country. Besides payments from the European Commission, the EMLE consortium will provide scholarship holders with substantial insurance coverage over the whole period of the EMLE academic year.

In previous academic years (from 2018-2019 up to 2021-2022), we were able to award Erasmus+ Scholarships to a total of 16 students from Program (EU) countries and 42 students from Partner (non-EU) countries. Thus, on average, up to 15 EMLE students received a full scholarship from the European Commission each year. However, at this point, it is still uncertain whether we will be able to award scholarships in the upcoming academic years and what the exact funding rules for these scholarships will be. This depends on the re-selection of our program to be sponsored by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program. This decision might come only very late, in summer 2022, so that we will not be able to guarantee any funding before students will be regularly admitted and enrolled to our program.

Appeal Procedure

There is a possibility to make an appeal against the evaluation of your application. Once we communicate the results of our selection process, and you are informed that you have not been selected or considered for a scholarship, you may write a letter of appeal to us via application@emle.org with your argumentation. For this purpose, please also see the selection criteria for the EMLE programme. We will then forward your appeal to our reviewing committee, who will have another look at your application. In case they decided that you still do not qualify for an EMJMD scholarship or for the EMLE programme in general, the EMLE programme, you may also appeal to the ombudsman. Before sending your appeal, please study carefully our admission and ranking criteria. Note, that no new arguments than mentioned during the online application (e.g. further education, experiences, certificates or documents) may be used in the appeal. Last, but not least, EMJMD scholarships are awarded merit-based and therefore in the order of the ranking established by the review panel. Socio-economic circumstances of applicants may unfortunately not be taken into account in the scholarship decision.

The final deadline will be on 13 January 2022.

You can find all information regarding the application and admission process, and selection criteria on the application section of our website.
