All of the above scholarships are automatic and guaranteed to students graduating from Canadian high schools. All scholarships are based on final admission averages and are automatically renewable for a total of four years*. Board of Trustees Continuing Scholarships are awarded in July; all final grade information must be received no later than July 10, 2020 for eligibility.
Arts & Humanities Entrance Award
For students entering Year 1 of an Arts & Humanities program. Award is valued at $1500 for students with a minimum 80% admission average. This award is automatic and comes with a full-time offer of admission (if applicant is eligible), applied to the 2020-2021 academic year. Recipients must register in 2.0 Arts & Humanities courses at Brescia. Award may be held in conjunction with a Brescia entrance scholarship. This cannot be combined with the Liz Hewitt Arts & Humanities Award.
Liz Hewitt Arts & Humanities Award
There are two awards for students entering Year 1 of an Arts & Humanities program valued at $2500. The first award is based on the highest admissions average and will be awarded to a student who is not already receiving a Board of Trustee Continuing Scholarship. The second award requires a mimumum 85% entrance average and is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need. This award is automatic and comes with a full-time offer of admission (if applicant is eligible), applied to the 2020-2021 academic year. These awards may be held in conjunction with a Brescia entrance scholarship and cannotbe combined with a Board of Trustee Continuing Scholarship and replaces the Arts & Humanities Entrance Award.
Program Entrance Awards: Family Studies, Management & Organizational Studies, and Social Sciences
For students entering Year 1 Family Studies, MOS or Social Science program. Award is valued at $250; students must have an 80% admission average as calculated by Brescia’s Admissions Office. Program awards are automatic and come with a full-time offer of admission and is applied to the 2020-2021 academic year, and may be held in conjunction with a Brescia Entrance Scholarship.
Foods & Nutrition Entrance Award
For students entering Year 1 Foods & Nutrition. Award is valued at $1000; students must have an 80% admission average as calculated by Brescia’s Admissions Office. The F&N Entrance Award is an automatic on-time award and comes with a full-time offer of admission; applies to the 2020-2021 academic year, and may be held in conjunction with a Brescia Entrance Scholarship.
Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Entrance Awards
For incoming students who have completed a Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM). The SHSM award is a one-time award valued at $2,000; No application required; applicants must self-declare to the Admissions Office by September 14, 2020. Students must have an 79% admission average as calculated by Brescia’s Admissions Office, and be entering full-time studies for the 2020-2021 academic year. The SHSM award may be held in conjunction with a Brescia Entrance Scholarship.
Brescia Catholic Education Foundation of Ontario Entrance Awards
Brescia offers a one-time Brescia CEFO Entrance Award of $500 to all incoming Brescia students who are also a recipient of a CEFO Student Award. Students who receive awards from the Catholic Education Foundation of Ontario are recognized for their academic achievement as well as their significant contributions to their school, parish, and community. No application for the Brescia CEFO Entrance Award is required; recipients must be registered in full-time studies at Brescia; the Brescia CEFO Entrance Award may be held in conjunction with a Brescia Entrance Scholarship and entrance program award.
*Scholarships and awards are applied directly to fees owing and will appear as a credit on your tuition invoice. First installments are thereby reduced by applicable scholarships and awards. If your tuition is assessed on a per course basis your scholarship and/or award will be prorated accordingly.
*In order to retain a continuing scholarship, recipients must maintain an 80% average on 5.0 courses taken concurrently in the September to April term while registered at Brescia University College.
