ARQUS: 2021-2022: International Mobility Support for Doctoral students and Post-Doctoral Researchers – Call for Applications, France

The Université de Lyon is launching a call for applications for its doctoral and post-doctoral students, as part of the Arqus European University Alliance and with funding from the ANR (French National Research Agency), in order to provide support for research mobility to one of the Arqus European University partners.The Arqus European University brings together the universities of Bergen, Granada, Graz, Leipzig, Lyon, Padua and Vilnius. The main aim of Arqus is to act as a platform for institutional learning that serves as a basis for developing, testing and implementing an innovative inter-university cooperation model.

OBJECTIVES

The outgoing mobility grants are for PhD students/post-doctoral researchers who are registered at one of the Université de Lyon’s doctoral schools (where applicable), attached to one of the site’s institutions that are involved in the Arqus European University project, and who are interested in a research residency, as part of their work, in a research unit associated with one of the Arqus partners:


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a PhD program or hold a post-doctoral contract;
  • Applicants must be attached to at least one of the following institutions: The Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, the Université Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne and the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS);
  • Applicants who have received or will receive funding as part of the “IDEXLYON international mobility support for doctoral students” call for applications will not be eligible;
  • Priority will be given to applications concerning (or which may lead to) theses in joint guardianship;
  • The funding will help finance a stay of six to twelve months, starting in 2021 and ending no later than May 30, 2022.

AVAILABLE FUNDING

The selected doctoral students/post-doctoral researchers will receive an allowance of €1,200 per month of residency as well as a €400 travel allowance to help cover transportation costs to and from the host laboratory.

Biochemistry and molecular biology, the human brain, global change/climate change, COVID-19, internet security, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, digital humanities, cancer research, European cultural heritage, physics/surface sciences, psychiatry, changing society, aging and health.


HOW TO APPLY

Applicants can submit their projects at any time, using the attached application form.
Successful applicants will be notified within two weeks of submitting their application.

The application form must be completed by the applicant and approved by the thesis director(s) (if applicable) and by the heads of the affiliated and host research units.

  • Applications open: November 15, 2020
  • Application deadline: March 31, 2021
  • Eligible residency period: from January 1, 2020 to May 30, 2022
