Swedish Institute Scholarship for International Students in Sweden

Scholarships offered by SLU

SLU offers a small number of scholarships each year.

Who can apply?

Scholarships are available for fee-paying students admitted to Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes.

SLU accept scholarship applications for the Bachelor’s programme Forest and Landscape and to all SLU Master’s programmes except the following:

  • Outdoor Environments for Health and Well-being
  • Agricultural Food and Environmental Policy Analysis (AFEPA)
  • Erasmus Mundus programme Plant Biology.
  • EnvEuro.

A scholarship offered by SLU covers tuition fees only, no living or travel expenses are included.

You need to pay the application fee even if you apply for a scholarship.

All fee-paying students, including scholarship recipients, are also covered by comprehensive medical insurance through Kammarkollegiet FAS+ during the entire study period. You can read the full terms of the insurance on Kammarkollegiet’s website.

How to apply

All students who apply for an SLU Master’s programme or our Bachelor’s programme Forest and Landscape as their first choice by the 1 February deadline will receive instructions on how to apply for a full tuition waiver scholarship.

The instructions will be sent to all eligible applicants (who has paid the application fee) in the beginning of February. The deadline for scholarship applications is 28 February.

Selection process

The selection process is based on a combined assessment of the applicant’s motivation letter and previous university grades. No CV or reference letters is required from the applicants.
