2022 Head Start Scholarships for New International Students in New Zealand
The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage international students thinking about studying at Unitec for the first time – in an undergraduate certificate or diploma programme – to pursue their goals and study with Unitec. The scholarship is open to international students in Level 3 to 6 programmes that take at least one semester of full-time study to complete.
International students starting a Bachelor’s, Postgraduate Diploma or Masters programme in 2022 receive an international study grant if they meet application requirements.

Unitec recognises that financial support and development opportunities are an important consideration for learners. The scholarship provides both financial support and mentoring opportunities in the first year of study.
Open and Close Dates
Open 14th January 2022 | Closes 26th April 2022
Eligibility
To apply, you must:
- be an international student and hold a valid student visa
- be enrolling for the first time at Unitec
- be starting full-time (minimum 45 credits per semester) in an undergraduate certificate or diploma programme (Level 3 to 6) at Unitec that takes at least one semester of full-time study to complete

Selection Bases
The selection committee will review all eligible applications sent to them and will make award recommendations based on applicant responses to the scholarship application questions.
