Teesside University Global Excellence Scholarship in USA
Teesside University is delighted to offer Global Scholarships to international fee-paying students in recognition of academic and English language ability.
Eligibility
These scholarships apply to:
- full-time students on foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research programmes
- The first year of study only
- Students enrolling in September 2021 or January 2022.
- Both sponsored and self-funded students.
The scholarships are granted as a tuition fee reduction.
The value of the scholarship is either £1,500 or £2,000, based on your GPA or IELTS score. The University assesses your eligibility automatically and will communicate a scholarship award following your academic application.
You may receive one of the following scholarships:
Global Academic Scholarship
- If you meet the academic entry requirements for your chosen programme, as referenced on your country page, you will be awarded £1,500. If you exceed the academic entry requirements you will be awarded £2,000. If you hold qualifications not listed on your country page, please contact International Admissions for further eligibility information.
Global English Language Scholarship
- If you achieve an IELTS score of 0.5 above the minimum requirement for your course, you will be awarded £1,500
- If you achieve an IELTS score of 1.0 above the minimum requirement for your course, you will be awarded £2,000

Students in receipt of a scholarship from an external body, not funded by Teesside University, may also be considered for a Global Excellence Scholarship.
Alternative english language evidence
If you hold an English language test score other than an IELTS, you have the option to submit it and sit an interview with the English Language Centre. The University will then assess if you are eligible for an English language scholarship with a value of either £1,500 or £2,000.
Alternatively, if you combine your in-country qualification with an interview with the ELC, the following criteria will apply.
