Mr. John Walsh Australia Award Team Leader: Tips to Win a Scholarship
Australia Award is one of well-known scholarships around the globe, which enables scholarship holder to make a difference toward their home country.
Opportunities are provided to pursue postgraduate qualifications at a Masters level and in exceptional cases PhD level at a few universities in Australia.
The scholarships are open to candidates from the Royal Government of Cambodia, public sector agencies, non-government organizations, civil society organizations and the private sector.
All fields of study are available, except general management degrees (such as Master of Business Administration).

How can you be qualified for the scholarship?
Mr. John Walsh: Eligibility criteria are:
- You have at least two years full-time (equivalent) work experience. Please note:
- Paid internships are considered as work experience/employment
- Work experience is calculated up to 30 April 2017 (closing date of applications)
- Work experience can be a combination of part-time experience/employment, so long as the full-time equivalency (of 24 months) can be readily calculated and evidenced.
- For Master applicants, you have to hold ad bachelor degree. For PhD applicants, you need to hold a Master’s degree.
- You need to have English Language proficiency including IELTS or TOEFL that have met required band score. (Applicants can provide later after applications have been submitted.)
- You have to provide Transcript, citizenship ID card/passport, motivation letter, reference letter, and so on.
- Please make sure that you have downloaded the required templates of documents.
How can applicants do well on Motivation letter and Reference letter?
- Applicants can complete and request any scholarship application or document through online before the closing date. Selection committee will check and judge candidates based on education including research of your fields of study which is important for Cambodia. Importantly, applicants need to have leadership skill. Also, applicants have to answer around 8 questions and write around 300 to 400 characters in the application.

Mr. John Walsh: All fields of study are available, except general management degrees (such as Master of Business Administration).
